Actor Terry Crews On How An Addiction To Porn Almost Cost Him His Marriage

Actor Terry Crews was named a Time Magazine 2017 “Person of the Year” as one of the “silence breakers” of the #MeToo movement after speaking out publicly about sexual harassment and assault.

But the artist and commercial spokesman admits, long before that, “I was a card-carrying member of this toxic masculinity.” The 49-year-old says there was a time when he nearly destroyed his own marriage to wife, Rebecca, over cheating and an addiction to porn.

“It was always hidden, in secret, and this and that, and I never told my wife during our whole marriage,” he says. “And I finally, finally broke.”

Rebecca says when she first confronted her husband, “We had it out. He told me about the prostitutes, he told me about all the porn things, and I said ‘You know we’re done, right?’ He’s like ‘What? I told you everything.’ I said ‘That’s good, but now it’s over.’”

“It woke me up. I was like ‘I need to get better for me,’” says Terry.

Terry and Rebecca say they were able to put their marriage back together after a lot of hard work and some time apart. The couple, who has five children, will celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary in July.

What does Rebecca say was the hardest part of learning about Terry’s indiscretions; and what made her decide to give her marriage a second chance?
